South River dominates county championship at Compass Pointe

South River senior golfer Josh Eure had conquered almost every event in high school golf.

Now he can add a county championship to his crowded trophy case.

Eure, the 2006 state champion, shot a 1-under-par 71 at Compass Pointe in Pasadena Wednesday to capture the individual county championship by four strokes, outlasting sophomore teammate Garrett Harding (75).

Eure's eagle on the 10th hole set the tone for his 2-under on the back nine. His round also included four birdies.
