Jogging: Olympic hype doesn't do enough to swell running numbers

To get some sense of whether the Olympics would provide some fitness inspiration, I stopped by the Ben Moore memorial runs last Sunday in Annapolis and I would say the answer was "yes and no." The race was held to memorialize the late Ben Moore, who inspired the growth of running around these parts. Directed by Ron Bowman and others, I found that the more than a hundred participants had signed up long before the Olympic hype. There were a few others who were inspired and signed up in recent days.

The race Sunday started off at the exact spot where Ben Moore began his marathon training sessions at the Harry S Truman Park-n-Ride lot....
