County police recently provided 50 officers to assist in a raid on a county business employing as many as 45 undocumented workers. Do you think this is a good use of county law enforcement resources? ---
By all means it is money put to good use. Look how much money being wasted by use of illegal aliens.

They get paid low salaries so American citizens can't work. They don't pay taxes or into social security. What part of illegal don't people understand? It is illegal and police are there to stop illegal activities!

I am all for legal immigration but why should we reward those who break the law by allowing them any benefits whatsoever? I am in absolute agreement with the police departments decision to assist in the raid.

Perhaps if we crack down on employers and there is no work for illegals, they will either go home or will go through proper channels and play by the rules...

LAURA SLATTERY Pasadena

Absolutely not! How about using those 50 officers to do something worthwhile, like arresting drug dealers or monitoring child sex offenders. The "undocumented workers" are adding to the county economy. Slap them with a fine and move on!

STEPHANIE BARBER

Absolutely, and I expect to see more. What part of illegal do you find hard to understand?

By law there is a proper way to enter this country; any other way is illegal, which means it becomes the business of the law enforcement establishments of this country, this state, and this county.

If anybody has a problem, work on changing the law. Until then, there is no excuse.

Nope. The operative word here is workers. And they are probably doing jobs that people don't want because it is "too hard" or "beneath them."

How about raiding Meade Village and exercising some warrants to the felons that are hiding among the good people that, through bad luck or circumstance, have to live there? Or raiding some after hours clubs and confiscating some weapons and drugs?

PHIL SOUTHWORTH

Odenton

Not only do I think it was a good use of our police we should have them doing it all the time. No one can say painters are a job Americans won't do, so that shoots down the lie they only take jobs Americans wont do.

We should also confiscate the assets of the owner of the company for knowing breaking the law, that might stop others from doing it.

CHARLES L. BUSH

Pasadena

I think police resources could be better used because entering the country illegally is a federal crime. I also think that because of the lack of leadership on the federal and state level the county executive has no choice but to do it on his own...

TIM COLMUS

By definition, Illegal, undocumented immigrants are breaking the law. As a nation based on the rule of law, we have an obligation to our citizens to uphold the law.

Illegal aliens begin their stay in our nation by breaking our laws; why should they respect any other laws? If the undocumented workers were that easy to identify to law enforcement, they should have been easy for the business to identify also. Business owners breaking the law should also be arrested.
