A level one class in composition and introduction to literature will be offered for credit by Anne Arundel Community College from 7 to 9:45 p.m. Wednesdays beginning the week of Aug. 25 at Glen Burnie High School, 7550 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd.
Class members will study and practice single-paragraph and multi-paragraph writing and read poetry and short fiction.
A level two class in the same subject will also be offered at the high school from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thursdays.
Class members will continue the study and practice of multi-paragraph writing and read novels and plays.
Patterns of exposition and writing research papers will be stressed.
The following AACC classes will also be offered at the high school beginning the week of Aug. 25:
Intermediate algebra will meet from 5:30 to 7:20 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Topics will include the algebra of polynomials; linear, rational, quadratic, exponential and logarithmic equations and functions; problem solving and graphing.
Business mathematics will meet from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursdays. Topics will include payroll records, depreciation, markup, markdown and simple and compound interest.
College algebra will meet from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Topics will include linear, quadratic, exponential and logarithmic functions; systems of equations; matrices and linear programming. Modeling applications will be emphasized. This class is not intended for those majoring in mathematics, engineering or the physical sciences.
Two sections of an introduction to psychology class will be offered. Section 500 will meet from 6:30 to 9:15 p.m. Tuesdays. Section 504 will meet from 7 to 9:45 p.m. Thursdays. The class will introduce major psychological theories, concepts and related current research findings. Topics will include learning, physiological bases of behavior, motivation and emotions, human development, personality and abnormal behavior.
Developmental psychology will meet from 7 to 9:45 p.m. Mondays. The class will examine current research and principles and theories of human growth and development. An overview of the development of thinking, language, personality, motor behavior and social behavior, from infancy through maturity, will be provided.

The Empowering Believers Church of the Apostolic Faith, 7566 Howard Road, will hold a food giveaway from noon to 3 p.m. Tuesday.
Participants in the giveaway, which is usually held on the fourth Tuesday of each month, will be asked to show their driver's license or other forms of identification with photographs.

Juggling, unicycling, slapstick comedy and audience participation will be featured in the program "General Foolishness."
Paul Hadfield will host the program at 1:30, 3:30 and 7 p.m. Wednesday at the North County Area library, 1010 Eastway.
This will be the library's final Summer Reading Club special event for the year.
