The bride-elect is a Chesapeake High School graduate. The prospective groom is a graduate of Glen Burnie High School. The wedding will take place Oct. 24, 2008. Sawyer, Grossi Erinn Paige Sawyer, the daughter of Steve and Marlene Sawyer of Pasadena, and Cary P. Grossi, the son of Connie Vassas of Steger, Ill., and the late Jack Vassas, announce their engagement. The bride-elect is a 2000 Chesapeake High School graduate. She graduated from the University of Maryland Baltimore County in 2004, and is a 2008 graduate of McDaniel College where she earned her master's degree. She is an elementary school teacher for Anne Arundel County Public Schools. The prospective groom is a 1993 graduate of Bloom Trail High School. He served in the Army, then earned his associate's degree in mortuary science from the University of the District of Columbia in 2001. He is a mortician and general manager of Sterling-Ashton-Schwab-Witzke Funeral Home in Catonsville. The wedding will take place Aug. 2, 2008. Adams, Murphy Clark and Sharon Adams of Pasadena announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Ashley Adams, to Ryan Murphy, the son of Theresa and Patrick Murphy of Gloucester City, N.J. The bride-elect is a 2000 graduate of Chesapeake High School and a 2004 graduate of Mount St. Mary's College. She is a sourcing and logistics specialist with Dupont in Wilmington, Del. The prospective groom is a 2000 graduate of Gloucester Catholic High School and a 2004 graduate of Mount St. Mary's College. He earned his juris doctorate from Rutger's University School of Law in 2007 and is practicing law at Saul Ewing in Philadelphia. The wedding will take place Sept. 13, 2008. Spaar, Weiss Melinda R. Spaar of Millersville, the daughter of Charlie and Mirjam Spaar of Severna Park, and Gary B. Weiss of Millersville, the son of Stuart and Dalene Weiss of Stevensville, announce their engagement. The bride-elect is a 1999 graduate of Severna Park High School. She earned her bachelor's degree in animal science from the University of Maryland College Park in 2003, then graduated in 2008 from Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. She is a veterinarian at Banfield, The Pet Hospital of Annapolis. The prospective groom is a 1998 graduate of Severna Park High School Class. He earned his bachelor's degree in criminology and criminal arts from the University of Maryland College Park. He is a paramedic firefighter for Anne Arundel County and the co-owner of Perficut Lawn and Landscaping. The wedding will take place Sept. 25, 2008, at The Castle at Maryvale in Brooklandville.
