Surf's up! Children ages 3 through sixth-grade will be "Surfin' Through the Scriptures" at Baldwin Memorial United Methodist Church's vacation Bible school from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday.
Activities will include games, stories and singing.
The cost is $10 per child or $20 per family.

Millersville 55 + Club
There will be no weekly meeting for the Millersville 55 + Club.
Members will gather at 9:30 a.m. Monday for bridge at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church.
There will be no meeting or game July 14 due to vacation Bible school classes. The schedule will resume at 9:30 a.m. July 21 and 28 for bridge games followed by a weekly meeting at 1 p.m. at the church.

Dance programs
The county Department of Recreation and Parks is offering summer dance programs for area youth and adults at Old Mill High School, 600 Patriot Lane.
A Little Dancers level one class for students ages 4 and 5 will be held from 5 to 5:45 p.m. on Wednesdays beginning July 23.
The four-week class will give students instruction on dance through creative movement to develop balance, coordination and basic movement skills. The cost is $30.
A beginner ballet and tap class for students ages 7 to 10 will be held from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. on Wednesdays beginning July 23. The four-week class is an introduction class offering the basics of ballet and tap dances. The cost is $35.
A jazz dance class for students ages 6 to 10 will be held from 6:45 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays beginning July 23. The four-week class program fee is $30.
A lyrical dance class for students ages 8 to 12 will be held from 7:30 to 8:15 p.m. on Wednesdays beginning July 23. Participants must have some dance experience to participate. The four-week class will include a combination of ballet and modern dance. The program fee is $30.

Earthworm program
Kinder Farm Park will hold a composting and mighty earthworm program at 11 a.m. July 13.
The beginners program is suitable for all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Advanced registration is required. Participants will meet at the park office.

Safe boating
State law requires persons born on or after July 1, 1972, to receive a Certificate of Boating Safety Education before operating a registered vessel, including personal watercraft such as Jet Skis or traditional numbered or documented vessels in Maryland waters.
A three-part Maryland Basic Boating Safety Course sponsored by the Friends of Anne Arundel County Trails will be offered from 7 to 10 p.m. Monday, July 11, and 14 at the Earliegh Heights Ranger Station.
Participants will learn the basic rules and fundamental practices of safe boating.
The program fee is $25. Certification will be awarded to those who attend all three classes and pass a written exam. Advanced registration is required.
