Glen Burnie softball's senior pitcher Erica Kinney was an out away from no-hitting Meade, but she settled for the five-inning shutout, as the Gophers won, 10-0.
Kinney struck out nine, walked one, and allowed a single to Meade's Amber Seal with two outs in the fifth inning.
Junior Jasmine Anderson hit a three-run home run for the Gophers in the second inning, and senior Heather Arrington and junior Brittany Willingham each added an RBI.
OLD MILL 6, ANNAPOLIS 0: The Patriots plated all six of their runs in the top of the seventh inning, getting run-scoring hits from
Winning pitcher Kelly Schweizer led off the seventh with a triple and scored on a passed ball, and Kara Paseka had a 2-RBI double to break open the game.
Schweizer yielded just two hits and struck out six for her first win of the season.
NDP 5, ST. MARY'S 2: Junior Katie Muldoon singled in two runs to tie the game in the top of the sixth, but the third-seeded Blazers rallied in the bottom of the inning to end the sixth-seeded Saints' season in the IAAM B Conference quarterfinals.
The Blazers scored the go-ahead runs on a bases-loaded bloop single with two outs in the inning.
"It was a close, exciting game," said St. Mary's coach Jim Hanley. "It was tough. They battled pretty hard, and they out-hit us a bit."
Hannah Geisen was 3-for-3 for the Saints, who won twice as many conference games this year than they had last season.
AACS: The Eagles forfeited its IAAM B Conference quarterfinal game against Maryvale yesterday.
Eagles sophomore pitcher Kiersten Waltz was hit in the non-throwing elbow by a pitch in a game against Notre Dame Prep last week, and the injury was severe enough to keep her from throwing, said AACS coach Lindsey Deford.
The Eagles finished their season at 2-12.
BASEBALL
GLEN BURNIE 12, MEADE 6: The Gophers doubled up the Mustangs behind three-RBI efforts from senior Steve Smoot and junior Tim Coulbourn.
Smoot hit a home run, and Coulbourn added a double and also picked up the win on the mound.
AACS 15, PALLOTTI 10: Senior James Baden's seven points (three goals, four assists) paced the Eagles (6-9) in their victory over the Panthers.
Senior Gil Trainor and Cody Thomas both pitched in with three goals each, and sophomore Will Kang netted two. Junior Matt Soldano chipped in with a goal and three assists.
Junior Adam Lowe (14 saves) and senior Jason Bowen (four saves) split time in the cage to earn the victory.

MCDONOGH 6, ST. MARY'S 4: The Saints outshot the Eagles, won more faceoffs, and corralled more ground balls, but they couldn't capitalize on opportunities late in the fourth quarter and fell short of the win.
Senior Matt Lamon assisted on all four Saints goals, which were scored by J.P. Coombe, Matt Bell, Neill Lewnes and Peter Athens.
St. Mary's will square off against county rival Severn Friday evening at Navy Marines Corps Stadium in its regular season finale.
CALVERT HALL 12, SEVERN 6: Junior Zach Swerdloff notched a hat trick and senior Matt Verklin and juniors Steve Kirkup and Jon Gren each tallied a goal, but the Admirals couldn't hold off a five-goal, fourth quarter outburst as the guests fell to the Cardinals.
Kirkup also added two assists, as did sophomore Alex Cramer, while senior Taylor Burns was also credited with an assist.
Senior goalkeeper Alex Plavner made 12 saves for Severn, which managed to win only five of 22 faceoffs in the game.
