Monsignor Slade Catholic School will sponsor its annual flower mart today through Saturday at the school, 120 Dorsey Road.
The flower mart is open to students to shop during school hours. Grades 6 through 8 will shop from noon to 2 p.m. today, followed by grades 2 through 5 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. tomorrow and the educare program, kindergarten and first-grade classes from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.
For the first time, the flower mart will be open to the public from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
Prices range from $2 for market packs to $25 for large hanging baskets.
Organizers anticipate they will be selling ageratum, alyssum, begonia, cetosia, coleus, dianthus, dusty miller, impatiens, marigolds, petunias, salvia, snapdragons, verbena, vinca, zinnia, dahlia, osteospermum, Gerber daisies, geraniums, New Guinea impatiens, cucumbers, melons, peppers and tomatoes, as well as assorted herbs, perennials, vines, houseplants and hanging flower baskets.

Charity auction
The county Pets on Wheels program will sponsor a "Good Stuff and Great Services" charity auction from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Pascal Senior Center, 125 Dorsey Road.
They will also host an auction preview day from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday.
Professional auctioneer Mike Crocker will auction off the items to the highest bidders.
The organizers have gathered golf clubs, a television, artisan jewelry, household items, sports packages, salon certificates and fine dining certificates for the auction. Donations for auction items also will be accepted on Friday. All donations are tax deductible.
Pets on Wheels coordinates more than 300 volunteers who visit county residents in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, hospitals, schools and other special care sites with their pets to provide pet therapy to patients.

Fundraiser tonight
The Glen Burnie Park Elementary School will host a fundraiser at the East Park Pizza Hut, located in the Park 97 Shopping Center, from 5 to 9 p.m. tonight.
Participants must present a fundraising flyer when they pay their bill. Additional flyers are available at the school. Participants may either eat in the dining room or purchase carry out.

Spring fling
Richard Henry Lee Elementary School will sponsor its fourth annual Spring Fling from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday on the school grounds, 400 A St. S.W.
The event includes carnival games, crafts, food and demonstrations.
This year, the event will feature a "Throw a Pie at your favorite teacher" booth.
The event also will include a classic car and Corvette show. Other displays include the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute's residential sprinkler trailer, equipment from the Glen Burnie Volunteer Fire Department, and the county Health Department's anti-smoking campaign.
Demonstrations will be offered by the county police department's K-9 unit and the A.J. Bartlinksi's Karate demonstration team. The Richard Henry Lee Chorus also will perform.
Child identification fingerprinting will be offered by the county Sheriff's Office.
Celebrity guests include a Baltimore Blast soccer player who will sign autographs and conduct an interactive soccer session.
The school's Scholastic book fair will be open throughout the event. All items are buy one, get one free.
Door prizes will be awarded at the end of the day.
The event will be held rain or shine.

Bake sale
The Burwood Tenant Council will host a bake sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the senior housing complex, 6652 Shelly Road.

Bereavement support
The Hospice of the Chesapeake will offer a six-week bereavement support group for adults from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays May 15 through June 10 at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center, 301 Hospital Drive.
The support group will be led by a Hospice of the Chesapeake bereavement counselor and will meet in the second floor PHP suite at the hospital.
The registration fee is $60, except for families whose loved one was cared for by the hospice program. The registration deadline is Friday.

The Annapolis Methodist Women will sponsor its annual prayer breakfast at 9:30 a.m. May 17 at Ferndale United Methodist Church, 117 Ferndale Road.

Sports card show
The Monsignor Slade Catholic School Home School Association will sponsor its monthly sports card show and Yu-Gi-Oh! tournament from 8:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the school cafeteria, 120 Dorsey Road.
The show will feature dealers selling sports cards, old Baltimore Colts memorabilia, Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, NASCAR memorabilia, Beanie Babies, YoYo balloons, non-sports trading cards, comic books, children's toys and games.
Table spaces are still available for vendors. The cost is $35 for a 12-foot table.
A Yu-Gi-Oh! tournament will be held in the school's multipurpose room on the lower level. Registration for the tournament will be accepted from 9:30 to 10 a.m.
Admission is free. Door prizes will be given out.
