Thursday Softball/Baseball: Cavaliers wrap up perfect conference season

Wechsler went 2-for-3 with a double and a triple. Fusco tripled in a run in the first inning and singled in a run in the fifth.

The win was Key's third straight after dropping its first 10 games.

The Obezags had their best defensive effort of the season, including throwing out two would-be base stealers in the same play, as Fusco picked off a runner at first base and after the rundown, Wechsler fired home to throw out the runner trying to score from third.

"We only had nine for the game and all nine of them contributed something whether it be a walk, a great catch in the outfield, which we had several of from Harrison Barton and Alex Boisvert, or a player taking an extra base," Key coach James Peters said.
