Brooklyn Park: Dog-day Monday at Democratic Club

The Roland Terrace Democratic Club is going to the dogs!
Or, rather, the dogs are going to the club.

Sgt. Grover of the county Police K-9 Unit, will take two of the county's caninss to the club for a demonstration at 8 p.m. on Monday.

Polish Home benefit

The Brooklyn and Curtis Bay Coalition will sponsor a bull roast from 4 to 8 p.m. on May 10 to benefit the Polish Home renovation project.

The roast will be held at the Polish Home Hall on Fairhaven Avenue.

Tickets are $40 per person or $37.50 for a group of 10.

The roast will be catered by Beefalo Bob's and there will be music, door prizes raffles and 50-50s. Tickets may be purchased at the coalition's office at 320 E. Patapsco Ave. between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

St. Rose bingo

St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church will host a bingo party on Friday in the school hall at 410 Jeffrey St..

The doors will open at 6 p.m. with the bingo games beginning at 7 p.m. The basic bingo package costs $12 and includes 20 games of bingo and five specials.

The evening's activities include early bird games, raffles, door prizes and refreshments from the kitchen.

Lions meeting

Community members are invited to join the Brooklyn Lions Club for an open meeting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday

Happy Wednesday

The Brooklyn-Curtis Bay Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2916 invites area residents to join them Wednesday for Happy Wednesday in the post's lounge at 601 E. Patapsco Ave.

The event features wings for .35, tacos for .75 and crab cakes for $6.50.

Crab feast

American Legion Post 187 at 1527 Cherry St., invites the community to itsfirst crab feast of the season from 1 to 6 p.m. on May 18.

Tickets are $30.

The post also hosts bingo games Fridays at 7 p.m. in its hall. The bingo night costs .25 per game.
