The Rev. Rachel Rebecca Abrams-Gray, 85, a resident of Annapolis for 80 years and church mother of First Christian Community Church, died of natural causes March 13 at Crofton Convalescent Center.
The Rev. Abrams-Gray was born Sept. 13, 1922, in Baltimore and attended Parole Elementary and the former Bates High School, Storer College, Fleet Business School, Anne Arundel Community School and Washington Bible School.
She began work in the Fort George G. Meade and the Naval Academy laundries. Later, she was a community outreach worker for the Community Action Agency, before working as a foster grandparent at Grandma's House in Robinwood. She was a caregiver at Langton Green, and worked as a legislative assistant at the Maryland House of Delegates. For several years she operated the Faith Home for the elderly and Pip's Family Daycare.
An evangelist, the Rev. Abrams-Gray preached the Gospel message nationally and internationally; she also was a member of King's Apostle Holiness Churches Inc., Jesus Saves Family Ministry, and the Evangelist Association.
She enjoyed developing businesses, mentoring, reading, memorizing poetry, traveling, spending time with family and friends and helping those in need.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Gwendolyn "Pip" Gray.
Survivors include her husband of over 60 years, Brewer Gray Sr.; three sons, Michael Gray of Upper Marlboro, Brewer Gray Jr. of Glen Burnie and Peter Gray of Severn; three daughters, Mary Gray of Annapolis, Evelyn Mason of Glen Burnie and Joy Williams of Arlington, Texas; one brother, Aaron Abrams of Baltimore; two sisters, Willie Issacs of Baltimore and Esther Murray of Denton; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit from 9 to 10:15 a.m. today at First Community Church, 1800 Hall Brown Road, Annapolis. A praise and worship service will follow at 10:30 a.m.

Gladys Bennett
Gladys Jeanette Hartman Bennett, 87, a resident of Brooklyn Park and member of the Friendship Church of the Brethren, died of pancreatitis March 18 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Charlestown, W.Va., after a five-day illness.
Mrs. Bennett was born May 10, 1920, in Circleville, W.Va., to the late Zell and Martha Lambert Hartman. She attended Circleville High School.
She was employed by the Baltimore Box Company and the Chesapeake Container Corporation until she retired in 1982.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren A. Bennett; and one grandson.
Survivors include two sons, Orlando E. Bennett and Kenneth W. of California; one daughter, Charlotte A. Bennett of Charlestown; one brother, Max Hartman; three sisters, Eva Propst, Avis Thompson and Doris Colaw; one grandson; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Ronald M. Dunty Sr., 54, a six-year resident of Glen Burnie and a letter carrier who retired this year after 35 years with the U.S. Postal Service, died March 20 at Franklin Square Hospital.
Mr. Dunty was born June 9, 1943, in Maryland, to the late William George and Helen Ruth Dunty Jr.
He served with the Maryland National Guard.
Mr. Dunty was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous.
He enjoyed golf.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Neil Dunty.

Herman Faulkner, 57, a 15-year resident of Factoryville, Pa., formerly of Pasadena, and a construction worker, died of lung cancer March 17 at Grandview Health Home in Danville, Pa.
Mr. Faulkner was born April 20, 1950, in Baltimore, to the late Norman and Ruth Faulkner Jr.
A construction worker most of his life, he also enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Mary Martha Gorth, 64, a three-year resident of Ocala, Fla., and formerly of Pasadena, died March 10 in Ocala.
She was born July 15, 1943, in Cumberland.
Survivors include her husband, Michael Gorth; two sons, William "Scooter" Freeman of Ocala and Shawn Freeman of Hanover, Pa.; and four grandchildren.

Freida Higgins
Freida Gay Turner Higgins, 70, a 50-year resident of Glen Burnie, formerly of Coeburn, Va., and longtime employee of NCO, died suddenly March 17 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center.
Mrs. Higgins was born Nov. 13, 1937, in Coeburn, to the late Caney and Gertie Turner.
For 20 years she worked in medical services billing.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and shopping. She was known for her quick wit.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hersel Gene Higgins, whom she married in 1961; two brothers, Edward and Bruce Turner; and three sisters, Celia Nixon, Shirley Shoering and Violet Mutter.
Survivors include two sons, Michael W. Higgins of Elkridge and David B. Higgins of Huntington; two daughters, Pamela R. O'Connor of Bel Air and Sharon A. Fava of Woodbine; and nine grandchildren.

William Lunsford "Bill" Huff, 80, a resident of Odenton and a member of Brooklyn Bible Chapel, died March 18 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center.
Mr. Huff was born May 18, 1927, in Alexandria, Va.

Mr. Huff was known for his compassion, generosity and witty sense of humor

Daniel Craig Lemaster, 57, a lifelong resident of Glen Burnie and truck driver, died of lung cancer March 17 at Heritage Harbour Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Lemaster was born Nov. 14. 1950, in Baltimore, to Margaret Weidner of Glen Burnie and the late Gifford Lemaster.
He served in the Navy.
Mr. Lemaster was a member of the Moose Lodge in Glen Burnie.
His interests included The Beatles, music and playing guitar.
Survivors include one daughter, Christina Allen of Baltimore; two brothers, Rodger Keith and Gifford Glenn Lemaster of Glen Burnie; and four grandchildren.

Linda Ann "Lin" McNicol, 62, of Livingston, Texas, and previously of Grasonville died of a brain tumor March 13 at Kindred Hospital after an illness of three months.
Mrs. McNicol was born Aug. 24, 1945, in Baltimore, to Marie Soutar of Pasadena, and attended Severna Park High School.
She retired from Safeway.
She was a member of United Communities Volunteer Fire Department and the Escapees RV Club.

Terry Parker
Terry Lee Parker, 52, a five-year resident of Glen Burnie and a 1992 Coppin State College graduate, died of lung complications March 15 at Harbor Hospital after a four-year illness.
Mr. Parker was born June 6, 1955, in Baltimore, to the late Ernest Milton and Annie Hatch Parker Sr. He graduated from Northeast High School in 1973 and lived in Annapolis before moving to Glen Burnie.
He worked at the Annapolis Yacht Club from 1985 to 1995, then the Seaside Restaurant from 2000 to 2005.
Mr. Parker was a member of the Golden Group.
He enjoyed art, as well as baseball, football and basketball.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Henry Roland Parker Sr., Burnis S. Parker Sr., and Ernest Parker Jr.; and one sister, Bertina Parker Bessicks.
Survivors include four brothers, Leon Parker of Glen Burnie, Howard E. Parker of Randallstown, Joseph S. Parker of Millersville and William A. Gary Puckett
Gary Edward Puckett, 60, an 11-year resident of Pasadena who was a member of the Lost in the 50s classic car club, died of lung cancer March 20 at his home after a two-year illness.
Mr. Puckett was born July 27, 1947, in Greensboro, N.C., to the late Otis Daniel and Lucille Mitchell Puckett.
For 34 years, he worked for The Sun newspaper of Baltimore.
Mr. Puckett was known for his long list of projects that he enjoyed tackling, which included classic car and boat restorations. He also enjoyed boating, fishing, stock car racing and camping, as well as cooking at family affairs, flea markets and car auctions.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Donna Puckett Pierce.

Marvin Salmond, 44, an 11-year resident of Severn and award-winning coach of the Maryland Blazers youth basketball team, died March 15 at his home after a brief illness.
Mr. Salmond was born Aug. 1, 1963, in Baltimore, to Marie Salmond of Baltimore.
An entrepreneur, he owned Home Healers Commercial Cleaning.
Mr. Salmond received many awards and accolades as a coach for the Severn Athletic Club and its Seminoles football, baseball and soccer teams. He also received numerous Amateur Athletic Union awards as a coach for the Maryland Blazers.

Air Force Reserves Major Marie Louise Sasse, 43, a five-year resident of Linthicum and Veterans Affairs employee, died of heart failure March 13 at Harbor Hospital.
Maj. Sasse was born Oct. 9, 1964, in Maryland, to Judy Davis of Florida and the late Rodney Plank. She earned her bachelor's degree from Carlow College in Pittsburgh. She later earned her master's degree.
She was active with the Reserves on Andrews Air Force Base.

She enjoyed crafts, being patriotic and country music.

Genevieve Dolores Watkowski Welle, 85, of Severna Park since 1983 and an active member at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, died March 19 at Genesis Eldercare in Severna Park.
Mrs. Welle was born March 12, 1923, in Baltimore where she also was raised. She graduated from the Institute of Notre Dame, Notre Dame College in Baltimore and Catonsville Community College. She lived in Arbutus before moving to Severna Park in 1983.
She was a nurse at Jenkins Memorial Nursing Home.
Mrs. Welle was a member of The Franciscan Society and attended daily Mass, Rosary and Novena at St. John the Evangelist Church.
She was preceded in death in 1989 by her husband, Enok Conrad Welle.

Otelia Brooks Wiley, 90, of Glen Burnie, died March 14 at Hammonds Lane Center.

Steven Yeaney
Steven Christopher Yeaney, 35, a resident of Baltimore and a power washer for Fleetwash and Powerscape, died of lung cancer March 19 at his home.
Mr. Yeaney was born Sept. 20, 1972, in Fayetteville, N.C., to Benson Yeaney and Terry Volkman of Brooklyn Park.
His interests included being with his good friends, eating good food, playing Play Station games and watching National Geographic and other education programs. He also enjoyed cars, word puzzles, reading and watching nature movies.
Survivors include one daughter, Brianna Yeaney of Brooklyn; his stepfather, Kenneth Volkman of Brooklyn Park; one sister, Stephanie Yeaney of Brooklyn Park; and his grandparents, George and Mildred Keefe of Ocean City.
Funeral services were held yesterday at McCully-Polyniak Funeral Home in Brooklyn. Interment is in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Charles Young
Charles Elia Young, 76, a 48-year resident of Glen Burnie and an Army veteran, died of unknown causes March 18 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center.
Mr. Young was born Dec. 1, 1931, in Hawaii, to the late Henry and Bertha Young.
He served in the Army from 1952 to 1955.
Mr. Young was employed for over 20 years as a medical distributor for Aloe Medical.
He enjoyed the stock market.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Shirley J. Young; three daughters, Leslie M. Granhn of Clarksville, Diane D. VanGilder of Glen Burnie and Tracey A. Young of Pasadena; three sisters, five brothers; and three grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at McCully-Polyniak Funeral Home, 3204 Mountain Road in Pasadena.
A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday at funeral home. Interment is private.
