Brooklyn Park: Pumphrey association to host meeting

The Taxpayers Improvement Association of Pumphrey will host a community open house from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday at the Lloyd Keaser Community Center, 5757 Belle Grove Road.
This two-hour, free community event will give area residents a chance to meet with local block captains, business representatives, area church members and neighbors.

Renovate your home

The Brooklyn Park library will host a presentation from Arundel Community Development Services from 7 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

The presentation will explain how homeowners in Anne Arundel County can obtain loans to repair and renovate their homes, typically with zero percent interest and deferred payments.

Brooklyn Park residents may be eligible for additional incentives under this program.

The library is located at 1 E. 11th Ave.

Arundel Neighborhood

The Arundel Neighborhood Association will hold a general meeting at 7 p.m. on Wednesday in the cafeteria at Park Elementary School, 201 E. 11th Ave.

All concerned area residents are invited to participate.

The association still has a few spaces left for its community flea market on April 26 to be held in the Cross Street Park.

Basket bingo

The Multiple Sclerosis Chapter of Brooklyn Park will sponsor a basket bingo party on March 30 at the Columbian Center, 335 N. Ritchie Highway in Severna Park.

Doors open at 2 p.m. with the bingo games beginning at 3:30 p.m. Tickets are $20. Ones purchased in advance will receive two bingo packets. There will be door prizes, three specials, pull-tab games, two raffles and refreshments. All baskets will have protectors, liners with family signatures and be filled. Happy Wednesday

The Brooklyn-Curtis Bay Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2916 invites area residents to join them for Happy Wednesday next week.

The event features wings for 35 cents, tacos for 75 cents and crab cakes for $6.50. Membership in the VFW is not required to attend Happy Wednesday. The hall is located at 601 E. Patapsco Ave.
