Jacksonville, which elevated women's lacrosse to varsity status in 2010, has 11 Maryland natives on its 31-player roster. Four of the Free State products playing for the Dolphins hail from Anne Arundel County while another is a Kent Island resident.

But the players' union might have been tempted to lock the doors, order takeout, and refuse to leave until a new deal is done. Because the NFL is suddenly in a giving mood.
