Harundale Presbyterian Church, 1020 Eastway,will hold a January cook-athon for the church’s free lunch program,will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 28. January’s food pantry item is canned soup. Donations may be left in the marked box in the church’s hallway.
•The church’s annual corporation and congregational meeting will be held immediately after Sunday’s 10:30 a.m. worship service.
•The new ushers’ club will start providing ushers, door greeters and Bible bearers on Feb. 5. There is still time to become a charter member of this group.
•Jim McGill, a Presbyterian Church USA missionary in Malawi, will be the guest speaker at a luncheon sponsored by the church’s mission committee.
McGill coordinates the clean water and sanitation work of the Synod of Livingstonia, a regional body of the Church of Central Africa, Presbyterian. He also assists PCUSA church partners with water and sanitation development in South Sudan and Congo.
His wife, Jodi McGill, is a clinical instructor at the Ekwendeni College of Nursing and the synod’s coordinator for primary health care, working with various public health programs including malaria prevention and HIV/AIDS prevention and care.
Harundale has been providing support for the McGill family for several years.
The luncheon will be held Feb. 5, after the church’s 10:30 a.m. worship service. The mission committee will provide sandwich makings and drinks. Those attending are encouraged to bring side dishes, salads and desserts to share.

•A bus trip to Sight and Sound Theatres in Lancaster, Pa., is scheduled for May 10. The cost is $90 includes tickets to see the show “Jonah,” dinner and bus transportation.
•The church will lead a youth mission trip to the Asheville Youth Mission in North Carolina from July 29 to Aug. 3.
